Last Sunday’s service, I was surprisingly appreciated, due to October “Pastor Appreciation Month“. With THANKS, it’s an honour to serve and unify our Godly dedication to one another!
Here are some photos shown in the service!
Below is a wonderful blessing delivered during the service by FBC leaders:
Pastor Wendell Gibbs, God has called, chosen, ordained, equipped, and blessed you to be the Shepherd for First Baptist Church, Toronto. The life of a pastor is not the path for most. It is a calling laid upon some by the Holy Ghost. We, the leadership, congregation and friends would like to thank you for: The countless times you have stretched out your hand in service to others.
The thousands of prayers you have prayed for the Leadership, membership
your congregation, community, the world in general.
For the many hours spent in/out of church, visitations, counseling, sermon
preparation, marriages, funerals, baptisms, chaplain (55th Division) etc.
Thank you for not judging people and always embracing everyone with open arms.
Thank you for being true to the Word – (2 Timothy 4:2)
Thank you for reflecting Jesus. (Matthew 5:16)
Thank you for being a Blessing. (Genesis 12:2)
Thank you for these attributes:
The Strength of Samson
The Wisdom of Solomon
The Courage of David
The Patience of Job
The Skill of Luke
The Endurance of Moses
The Agility of Zacchaeus
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
And now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you, giving you His peace. May you walk with self- confidence, with joy and divine knowledge that your destiny was written in the chronicles of glory from the creation of time. God saw you today and knew exactly where you were going to be. You are on the highway to heaven. Celebrate with joy unspeakable- great things are on the way for you, blessed child of the living King! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God who sits upon the throne, who rules and reigns forever and ever. Amen!
With love and appreciation,
First Baptist Church Membership and Congregation
Sunday’s message was “Virtues of a Godly Man” and I humbly pray to do my best to measure up. Representative Deacon Ola’s message outlined that the Christian moral life is one that seeks to cultivate and practice virtue; a habitual and firm disposition to do the good. An effective moral life demands the practice of both human and theological virtues of which the Bible outlines: faith, hope, and love… “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.” 2 Peter 1:5-7
Outline of “Virtues of a Godly Man” by Deacon Ola Adeyemi:
1 He is focused on God’s Word/Prayer (Hebrews 2:1, Isaiah 66:2-3)
2 Full of Wisdom (Proverbs 3:13)
3 Responsible to his family/community, Romans 14:12)
4 Clothed with Humility (Philippians 2:3-4, 1 Peter 5:5-7)
5 Gentle with All (Proverbs 15:1)
6 Builds Trustworthy Relationships (Proverbs 12:22, 27:17)
7 God- Centered (Colossians 3:2 , I Corinthians 15:58)
8 Fears God (Proverbs 1:7, Philippians 4:8-9)
