It was a blessed Mother’s Day service with our special speaker and mother, Rev. Caleen Howard. Our praise was all about our endearing moms, echoed with the theme of “A Praying Mother”. Her message exposed the disconcerting barrenness of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, to her humbling petition for God to open the room in her tomb. Eli the priest, affirmed the “granting” word to her (vs.17), and God moved in position to answer her prayer.  Rev. Caleen affirmed that “Hannah’s prayer was the egg, and the word from Eli was the seed; and when the word collided with the prayer, it fertilized the “Wombman. Like Hannah’s prayer-birth to the prophet Samuel, a mother’s prayer will birth a promise, and become a pregnancy of purpose from God. Are you praying?

“In her deep anguish, Hannah prayed to the Lord…and made a vow… “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life.” (1 Samuel 1:10-11). “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)
