Last Sunday we welcomed soul-stirring soloist Veronica Tynes, and inspiring speaker Captain Rev. Kevin Junor to our Black History commemoration service. Amidst our exuberance praise, Rev Junor’s message reminded us that “Our Past Is Not Our Future” because we are “OVERCOMERS”. Our attitude of moving from a victim mentality of unforgiveness with God, will always lead to being an “OVERCOMER”. The story of Joseph (Genesis 37) and his rise from victim to victor, demonstrated this testimony of how we can overcome from past pain and enslavement to one of victory. We’ll be blessed when we align our History with HIS-story. We are encouraged from Isaiah…
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV)
