Last Sunday, we celebrated 195 years of ministry service and reflected upon the strong-standing shoulders of our past leaders and members. Along with our exuberant praise and inspiring soloist Clairmont Humphrey, we were invigorated by our welcomed speaker, Captain Rev. Kevin Junor (http://www.blackincanada.com/2011/02/04/kevin-junor/). He qualified our theme “Preservation in His Presence” with Webster’s meaning “to keep (something) in its original state or in good condition”, alluding to our longevity posture and position of Godly service. He reminded us that like the story of Job, we too have been complained about by satan; yet God’s response at every milestone, was for First Baptist to move from a place of “Worry to Worship”. We were admonished and assured from our theme verse in Psalm 91:1 that as we “… dwell in the shelter of the Most High”, we “ will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” and thus press on to our 2nd Century.
We’ve come this far by faith. Enjoy this recent memory lane… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYAVYpnpf8M
